Work in progress. I find that taking pictures helps me see things that I might otherwise miss, especially after staring at a piece up close for awhile.
And no, those aren't my sketches in the background. I printed out some reference sheets from other (extremely talented) artists, just as a sort of structural reality check. I find it's all to easy to get fixated on a single feature, sometimes to the exclusion of all the others, so I keep a LOT of anatomical reference around, both drawn and photographed. I'm working in a mixture of Pro Sculpt and Premo over an aluminum armature. Comments

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.  reports, 1d 21h agoThis newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. |
